About Yuba Sutter Tang Soo Do Academy Curriculum Classes at the Academy are separated into three categories. New Students "Beginners" are taught in small, semi private sessions. These initial classes serve to familiarize students, new to our Academy in the basic concepts of Tang Soo Do. These sessions also provide orientation on class room etiquette, protocol and basic self defense techniques. As students progress and attain a good working knowledge of basic self defense skills, they move into "Intermediate Level" classes. This development stage of training affords students the opportunity to expand beyond basic self defense skills and to grow as martial artists in preparation for the challenges of "Advanced " instruction. Advanced classes are for the most serious and dedicated students. The high performance standards that are expected of the students at this level of training are what sets the them apart as true martial artists. The Yuba Sutter Tang Soo Do Academy offers both children and adult classes. Message to Parents Today, children represent the highest percentage of enrollment in martial arts schools throughout the nation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the average child to receive a well-rounded physical and social education in our public school system. Parents increasingly look to martial arts programs as a way to enhance the physical and social development of their children. Highly qualified Black Belt Instructors at the Tang Soo Do Academy instruct students in a disciplined, no-nonsense environment. We believe that children can attain extremely high levels of coordination, balance, agility and strength if trained in a disciplined and rigorous atmosphere structured to overcome their challenges. Authentic Martial Arts programs offer this type of developmental training in all the components of physical fitness with the added benefit of self-defense. Students at our Academy develop a healthier self image, self confidence and a strong work ethic that enables them to be successful in all aspect of their lives. Simply put, we develop "character."
