Rules of Conduct for Students
- Entering the Do Jang: When entering the Do Jang, pause at the entrance, face the flags and apply proper protocol of placing your right hand over the heart and bow in the direction of the flags. This demonstrates respect and appreciation for our country, the art of Tang Soo Do, and an acknowledgement of the privilege of training in the Moo Do way. Then bow to the instructor and all senior members present. This discipline should be performed upon entering and leaving thee Do Jang. When entering the Do Jang, personal preparation is an essential. Cease talking, quieting oneself physically, mentally, and spiritually, and focus on your training. This creates "Jong Sook", quiet internal peace.
- Late Entrance: When a student arrives late, the following protocol should be followed: quietly enter the Do Jang, stand at the door and bow in the direction of the flags. Remain at attention, at the entrance, until recognized by the instructor. After being recognized by the instructor, bow to the instructor, walk behind the other students, and assume your proper position in class.
- Receiving Instruction: When the instructor, or any senior member, offers personal corrective instruction to a junior member, the junior member must stand at attention. At the completion of instruction, the junior member should bow and say, "Thank you, Sir/Ma'am". This demonstrates respect and appreciation. A junior member should refrain from correction a senior member in the Do Jang. If a student has a question, s/he must raise her/his hand. When recognized, the student must stand at attention, bow, and ask the question. After the answer is received, the student should bow and say, "Thank you, Sir/Ma'am".
- Excusing Oneself from Class: if a student must be excused from class (to take care of personal needs), the student will raise her/his hand to receive permission from the instructor, bow, and exit the Do Jang properly. When s/he is able to rejoin class, the student should stand at the entrance until recognized by the instructor. Once recognized by the instructor, the student should bow, and rejoin the class.
- Entrance of the Chief Instructor: When the Sa Bom Nim, or chief instructor, enters class, the most senior member will call the class to attention (Cha Ryut), and command "Kyung Ret". The class will then recognize the Sa Bom Nim with a bow.

Entering the Chief Instructor's Office:
- Never walk into the office unannounced. Always knock first at the door and wait for instructions.
- Upon seeing the instructor, bow, and stand at attention until recognized by the instructor.
- The student remains at attention during the conversation (unless asked to be seated by the instructor).
- When the conversation is concluded, the student should thank the instructor, bow, and walk backwards (not showing back to the instructor) until s/he reaches the door. The student bows before exiting.
- The conversation should always maintain a tone of respect, and Sir/Ma'am should be used whether one is in or out of one's Do Bok.

Other Items of Importance:
- Students and visitors should remain silent during class sessions.
- When a junior ends a class, s/he should pay respect to the highest ranking senior member. When there is more than one senior member, the class should bow to the highest senior member only.
- Students seated on the sideline should remain silent, and maintain proper posture while seated, with hands on knees, and legs crossed.
- Students and instructors will use Korean terminology in Tang Soo Do.
- Students will bow properly and turn away in order to adjust the Do Bok and Dee when needed.
- Training without a Do Bok or Dee is not permitted.
- Uniforms should be clean, pressed, with lapels trimmed to match the colored belts. No jewelry should be worm while training.
- Students are responsible to do their part to keep the Do Jang clean.
- No sparring or self-defense training without the supervision of an instructor. Also, disregard for the safety of another will not be tolerated.
