Ten Articles of Faith on Mental Training
- Be loyal to one's country: through dedication and sacrifice fulfill your duty to your country and your people. This originates through the tradition and spirit of Hwa Rang Do.
- Be obedient and respectful to one's parents and elders: children should be respectful and loving to their parents, and parents should be loving and kind to their children.
- Be loving and kind to one's husband or wife: marital happiness is the result of unselfish dedication and unconditional love toward each other.
- Be cooperative between brothers and sisters: develop unity, cooperation and unselfish dedication between your familial as well as Moo Do brothers and sisters.
- Be respectful to elders: respect, honor, and protect the rights of elders with courtesy, consideration, and deep appreciation.
- Be faithful to your teacher: develop your Moo Do spirit through the practice of duty, loyalty, unselfishness, and loving kindness.
- Be faithful to friends: honor friendship and strive for peace, happiness, and harmony toward all humankind.
- Face combat only in justice and with honor: seek with purity of heart to discern between good and evil with truth and fairness.
- Never retreat in combat: sacrifice for truth and justice with courage, bravery, and a pure heart.
- Always finish what you start: believe and you will achieve.
